YumeBee

A cozy, private chat app for you and your friends.

End-to-end encrypted · disappears in 24h
Private by design

Private by design

An end-to-end encrypted chat app where every message disappears in 24 hours.

End-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol. Messages, photos, videos, voice notes, stickers, memes and reactions are locked on your phone and unlocked only on your friend's — in 1:1 and group chats. We can't read them.

Gone in 24 hours, always. Every message disappears a day after it's sent, read or not. No chat history, no cloud backup.

One phone per number. Your private keys never leave your device, and signing in on a new phone cuts off the old one.

No ads, no ad trackers. No advertising SDKs, no ad identifiers, and we never sell your data.

Share a wink

Share a wink

A photo or video from right now — and one look before it's gone.

Tap for the wink

Taken in YumeBee's own camera — this moment, not your camera roll — and one look before it's gone.

Wink each other every day and you build a wink streak — a little number next to their name that grows for as long as you both keep it going.

Gossip groups

Say it in a gossip group

A group chat where messages arrive with no name on them.

No sender, on anyone's screen. Messages show up with no name, no photo and no colour — everyone sees what was said, nobody sees who said it.

Chosen once, when you make the group. A group is a gossip group for its whole life, so nothing you've already sent changes meaning later.

Everything else is a normal chat. Still end-to-end encrypted, still gone in 24 hours, still up to 20 people.

Everyone needs a recent YumeBee. Hiding the sender is something each phone does, so we won't add anyone whose app is too old to do it — you'll be told who needs to update.

The short version. Everything else is in the usage guide.

What is YumeBee?

YumeBee is a free, private chat app for iPhone and Android, made for talking with friends you actually know. It has one-to-one chats and group chats of 2 to 20 people, with text, emoji, photos, videos, voice messages, stickers, memes and emoji reactions. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and disappear 24 hours after they're sent. YumeBee is published by YuMe Network Private Limited, an Indian company.

Is YumeBee end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. Messages, photos, videos, voice messages, custom stickers, memes and emoji reactions are end-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol — the same protocol Signal and WhatsApp use — in one-to-one and group chats alike. They are encrypted on your phone and decrypted only on the phone they were sent to; YumeBee's servers relay ciphertext and never hold your private keys. Typing indicators, read receipts, online status and watch cards are not end-to-end encrypted; they are protected in transit with TLS. How it works

Do messages on YumeBee disappear?

Yes, always. Every message, photo, video and voice message disappears 24 hours after it's sent, whether or not it was opened, and there is no setting to keep it longer. YumeBee has no chat history and no cloud backup. A wink — a photo or video taken in YumeBee's own camera — is also view-once: it's gone the moment your friend closes it.

Is YumeBee free? Where can I download it?

Yes, YumeBee is free, with no ads. Download it from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android.

Who can use YumeBee?

YumeBee is available in India for now. You sign up with an Indian (+91) mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS — there is no password. You must be at least 13 years old. Each phone number works on one phone at a time; signing in on a new phone replaces the old one.

How is YumeBee different from WhatsApp, Signal or Snapchat?

WhatsApp and Signal use the same Signal-protocol encryption, but on those apps disappearing messages are a setting you have to turn on. YumeBee makes the private choice the only choice: every message disappears after 24 hours, nothing is backed up, and screenshots are blocked in chats. Like Snapchat, YumeBee is built around moments that don't stick around, but every chat is end-to-end encrypted and there are no ads. Full comparison

Does YumeBee have group chats or voice and video calls?

Group chats, yes — 2 to 20 people, with the same encryption and 24-hour lifespan as a one-to-one chat. You can also make a gossip group, where messages show no sender, so nobody in the chat sees who sent what. Voice and video calls, no, by design. You can send voice messages (called whispers) of up to one minute.
